Kato Joshua Kasule is a long-time Rising Star. He is the younger brother of Jonah, who came to the US and played semi-professionally a few years ago and now runs our soccer program. Kato is one of the most gifted players to ever come through Rising Star and that is saying a lot considering we have had players play all the way up to the national team level.

Now he is getting an opportunity like non before him, to try out with professional teams in Poland. Kato will go to Poland in November and stay for 2 weeks. We are praying and hoping for the best for him. This opportunity doesn’t come along often, so we want to be sure to give him his chance to live out his dream. We often talk about working hard and putting your best effort into things and opportunities will come, but now it truly has in a big way.

In order for Kato to go to Poland, he will need to pay for his flight and travel expenses, which adds up to $3500. As you can imagine, that is a lot for a young person in Uganda. As he has been at Rising Star since he was a young child, we want to treat him like we should, by helping him out.
